Maggy Words Modlibowska
A conceptual artist, sociologist, mentor, and certified forest bathing and forest therapy guide (009/24 IER). In her practice, she combines art, nature, and social reflection, treating creativity as a tool for transformation and a deepened experience of relationships: with oneself, with others, and with the environment. For over 30 years, she has lived and implemented projects in the spirit of 100% zero waste, using recycled materials, which is not only an aesthetic choice but also an ethical and ecological one.
She is the author of the project “Beyond the Frame,” the first exhibition in Poland to incorporate a full forest bathing session into a visual art exhibition. The project was held under the honorary patronage of the Director General of the State Forests, the Polish Society of Forest Bathing and Forest Therapy, and the Culture and Art Committee of the Polish Psychiatric Association. She has collaborated with numerous cultural institutions, including the Association of Polish Visual Artists and the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.
As a sociologist with business experience, she analyzes cultural processes and the mechanisms by which niche practices enter the mainstream. As a forest therapy guide, she works based on reliable standards, ensuring safety, structure, and process integrity. As an artist, she explores the limits of perception and the role of art in regulating attention and deepening awareness.
In her work, she asks: how can art and nature be combined in a responsible, professional manner that truly supports human well-being?
